For the best print quality, please upload your photo as a full-resolution, 16-bit TIFF file in the ProPhoto RGB color space (ZIP compression is lossless and saves bandwidth). We make all of our prints using a calibrated 12-ink, pigment-based printer to bring you the utmost in color gamut and archivability. We tested over 85 papers for their tonal range, detail, texture, and overall quality before selecting the papers to offer at our print lab.

Epson Premium Luster paper is Epson's most popular paper, and arguably the standard against which other papers should be judged. It has a slight pebbly texture, high brightness, rich shadows, and a large color gamut. The color balance is neutral to slightly cool. Among the papers that we offer, it is best able to reproduce the tones that you see on your computer monitor.

This paper contains chemicals known as optical brightening agents (OBAs) which help to increase the paper's brightness, especially under dim light. Over a long enough period of time, these chemicals eventually "burn up" and lead to yellowing or color fading as the paper reverts to its warmer base.

The gold standard for paper longevity testing, Wilhelm Research, determined here that Epson’s Premium Luster paper will last 135 years before noticeable color shifts if displayed under regular glass, and more than 250 years if displayed under UV glass (and over 400 years if the photo is black and white, even under regular glass). This is actually longer than some of Epson’s OBA-free papers. However, when the color shifting does eventually occur, the degree of shift will be higher compared to non-OBA papers.

Notes:

1. You must select a 3x4 crop upon uploading your photo. If you want a different aspect ratio for your print, please choose one of our other print options.
2. Any border you choose will be a white extension added around the edges of the photo. Nothing is superimposed over any part of the photo. 
3. Borderless prints may have 1-2mm cut off each side of the image. This is done in order to avoid any thin white lines appearing along the edges of the print.
